Sustainability

Climate Change is becoming a foe that is harder to avoid every given day. Given this challenge, it is becoming necessary for organisations to think more and more about sustainability and the need to align their business goals with sustainability goals.

The United Nations Development Program has provided us with the Sustainability Development Goals proposed in 2015. This provides a great framework to analyse the alignment of any business with sustainability.

As a business owner, one way of thinking about sustainability would be to see it as a responsibility both societal and moral to care for the society that the business exists in. At the same time, thinking selfishly; you need to care about it because not adhering to these goals could actively harm your business in the long term.

The dramatic effects of climate change such as flooding, forest fires, landslides, and droughts are becoming more frequent and can actively harm your business growth. Also, issues such as inequity, and lack of human resource development can make it difficult for you to recruit the people needed to grow your business in the future.

Finally, there is a high likelihood that governments across the world would be pushed toward legislating to force good behaviour. The sudden arrival of such regulations can make it difficult for your business to thrive if you are not already prepared for it.

What We Do?

For organisations that are conscious about sustainability, we have two programs that targetted to provide specific actionable inputs on measures that can be taken to identify and take meaningful action.

Sustainability

The sustainability program is a holistic program meant to identify, diagnose and solve challenges within an organisation that are currently leading to unsustainable practices.

The focus of this program would be to define the set of sustainable practices that a company can adopt in line with the UN SDG based on the area that it operates in and the stakeholders that it serves.

  • A comprehensive audit will be undertaken to understand the benefits and harm arising out of the operations of a business
  • A plan needs to be created to maximise the benefits and minimise the harm being caused
  • A strategic plan will be put in place for each department to move towards sustainability and address the areas where changes need to be brought about
  • An execution plan will be agreed upon and rolled out
  • After 6 months an audit will be performed to see what areas can undergo improvements and where existing plans are excelling

The sustainability program is powerful for organisations and often leads to financial benefits from operations and overall goodwill for the company.

Emission Reduction

Carbon emissions are the leading cause of climate change which is causing global disruptions. There is a need to take responsibility and action immediately to change this.

Our program in this space is focused on helping organisations understand their footprint and also identify ways and means by which this can be mitigated in the short and long term.

  • We map out the Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions of a company
  • Categorise the emissions in order of priority of action
  • Strategise a mitigation plan and change management where possible
  • Work with the teams to create a plan for operationalising
  • Audit the changes every 6 months to suggest further improvements

This program is laser-focused on making sure that the latest innovations and practices are internalised by the organisation to make a tangible difference to the operations of the company as well as the carbon footprint of the organisation. Further, if there is room to create carbon credits, the same shall be explored as well. Good practices can be financially rewarding as well!
